As the first month of the year comes to a close, we sat down with Audrey Gruss to talk all things Valentine’s Day and Hope Fragrances!
What is the essence of Valentine’s Day for you?Â
For me, Valentine’s Day represents love and hope. It has a broader meaning of warmth and positivity throughout the year.
What do you like to do with your loved ones on this day?
I enjoy spending this special day with my husband. We like to go to a special lunch or dinner at a romantic restaurant that is meaningful to us. In New York, we love to go to Majorelle, where the beautiful and flagrant flowers at the entrance immediately set the mood for beauty and romance.
You love to pamper your loved ones year round. What is a treat that you enjoy with your closest friends?
A shared experience with friends is to book spa appointments at the same time and have a self-care afternoon, before you go out for that special dinner. I bring our Hope Night Body Butter for the masseuse to use. It is one of the most moisturizing, fragrant, and soothing creams that you’ll ever put on your body.
What are the one common aspects of the person or people you love the most in this world?
The most important characteristic is morality—knowing right from wrong, followed by kindness, a big heart and generosity. Intelligence and a sense of humor are a given. I love to surround myself with people who make me laugh!
Valentines Day is about loving others but also loving oneself. What is one thing that you love about yourself?
Positivity and optimism are my strongest attributes. I think kindness and giving back every day should be on everyone’s mind because if you think of others, you tend to stress out less about yourself. That is why philanthropy is so fulfilling for me. Hope for Depression Research Foundation, which I founded in 2007 to help fund research on depression, is a labor of love and drives my purpose in life.
