As the global pandemic of novel coronavirus COVID-19 rapidly evolves, we stand witness to a changing world. The pain of not seeing loved ones, the process of adapting to a restricted lifestyle, and the flood of virus-related content we consume are all major sources of stress. For those who may already struggle with depression, anxiety, and other forms of mental illness, these added strains may augment existing issues. Others may be experiencing them for the first time.
To help cut through the media noise of COVID-19 coverage and offer some reassuring, fact-based content during these trying times, we will be collaborating with the Hope for Depression Research Foundation to create a dedicated COVID-19 resource center. This page will contain links to trusted sources of information and will be updated as the health crisis evolves.Â
If you’re experiencing feelings of depression and hopelessness, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
